BMW M6 Gran Coupe Review 2013
PRICE RANGE:$299,500*PROS: Styling masterpiece inside and out;astonishing to driveCONS: The M6 Gran Coupe only graced our garage for one weekSafety Rating: N/AGreen Rating: Fuel Consumption: 9.9L/100km
Zero to 100km/h takes 4.2 seconds and fuel consumption (combined cycle) is rated at 9.9l/100kms. To that end the BMW M6 Gran Coupe runs auto start/stop and brake energy recuperation.
Power comes from BMW’s sonorous 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 engine – by any measure one of the best high-performance engines on the planet.
The high-revving V8 (redline 7200rpm) delivers maximum power of 412kW from 6000rpm and peak torque of 680Nm between 1500-5750rpm.

Drive is to the rear wheels via BMW’s seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic and the Active M differential.
The noise of the 4.4-litre V8 at work is sublime. Unlike any other V8 really, the M6 Gran Coupe bursts into life and absolutely howls at the upper end of the rev range – astonishing.
And if that’s not enough, BMW offers an optional ‘Competition Package’ which boosts output by 11kW to 423kW and also adds a sportier suspension calibration and revised mapping for the Active M differential and steering.
